Despite not initially pursuing art, Maggie transitioned from a business major to an MFA program at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She discusses overcoming imposter syndrome in grad school, her first nerve-wracking but exhilarating experience as a live wedding painter, and the challenges of relocating her business from New York to Florida, which led her to actively build a new art community through bridal shows and networking.
Stephanie gets Maggie to delve deep into her artistic process, including her preference for a limited oil palette that creates vibrant colors in both her original and wedding paintings. The two also discuss Maggie’s incredible experiences with international art residencies in France and Portugal, where she developed her studio practice, and her current role as a private art instructor, emphasizing the crucial role of community for artists at any stage of their career!
